Caterina Calderoni
Born in 1963 in Ravenna (Italy), Caterina Calderoni received the diploma in piano under the guidance of the Argentinian pianist Daniel Rivera, and in composition with the Italian composer Bruno Bettinelli. She mastered composition with Franco Donatoni and attended classes and seminars in musical informatics at IRCAM in Paris and the AGON Studio in Milan. She won first prize in the 1st Composition Contest for Film Music announced by Ennio Morricone at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. She was also a finalist in the international Composition Contest ALEA III Composition Contest in Boston and the Women Composers Composition Contest in Venice. She has composed soundtracks for TV programs commissioned by the national braodcast (RAI) and often works at multimedial and visual art projects, providing sound productions for performances, art works and exibitions.
